Ed joined CDM in 1984, its founding year. He was appointed President and CEO in December 2001 and has now taken on the role of Chairman and CEO. CDM is a healthcare communications company with more than 640 employees and offices in New York, Princeton, Los Angeles, and London. CDM has experienced double-digit growth consistently over the past 10 years, and continues to build its business in the service of leading healthcare companies, including Amgen, Boston Scientific, Johnson & Johnson, Guidant, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Solvay, and Pfizer, among others.
Ed began his career in advertising on the creative side, a copywriter who spent the better part of his tenure at CDM leading as Creative Director. Under his discerning guidance, CDM has earned and sustained a hard-won reputation for creative excellence. The work of his creative teamswhich has represented more billion-dollar healthcare brands than any other agencyis some of the most recognizable, high-impact, and firmly branded work today. Of note is the Bob Dole spot Ed wrote for erectile dysfunction, which won national media attention.
Over the past several years, Ed and his management team have driven the strategic expansion of integrated services to include global marketing services, interactive, institutional marketing, and professional relationship marketing as a complement to more traditional agency functions.
Ed is extremely protective of the environment that has made CDM a great place for the most talented people in the business to thrive and grow. As a satisfied client recently said to Ed, “It's all about the people, isn't it?” It is. And Ed is determined to keep it that way.
Away from work, Ed serves as a human jungle gym for his four children.
“It's all about the people, isn't it?”
